Course Description

Under a federal law enacted in 2016 known as the 21st Century Cures Act, Congress created a special kind of HRA for small businesses called a QSEHRA (Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement). A QSEHRA allows business owners without a small group health plan to reimburse employees tax-free for individual health insurance premiums and medical expenses. In this course, we’ll unpack the details of the QSEHRA guidelines and rules, the financial and time-saving benefits for small businesses, and how easy it is for you to implement QSEHRA for your small business clients.

  • Define which small business clients are good fits for QSEHRA

  • Review IRS guidelines, end-of-year tax reporting, PCORI fees, and Federal tax credits

About Our Presenter

Take Command Health was born about the same time our founder Jack and his wife Brittany were surprised with a twin pregnancy–a huge blessing but an equally bigger surprise.

Jack and Brittany had just quit their jobs and moved across country so Jack could start graduate school at the Wharton School of Business. Jack sought additional student loans to pay for the twins. He spoke with doctors, hospital administrators, and insurance experts but was shocked to learn that no one could even give him a ballpark answer about how much the twins would cost.

Jack met his co-founder Matt and focused the rest of his time at Wharton researching healthcare cost transparency and laying the foundation for what would become Take Command Health.
